About Us

Welcome to the home of the Midway Sharks! We are in the Mead School District where we are known for our educational excellence. Our school is nestled in beautiful mountains and surrounded by pine trees and rolling hills just north of the Wandermere area of Spokane. The setting outside is beautiful, but what is even more amazing is what takes place inside.

We have a student population of more than 400 students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. We believe that working together we can provide our students with a purposeful and meaningful education, which prepares them to become productive and successful citizens.

In order to accomplish this vision we purposely provide a safe and positive environment where each individual student has an opportunity to learn.

We use research-based, best practice instructional strategies to address and enhance the uniqueness of each learner. We maintain high performance of the curriculum by differentiation of instruction, testing and feedback. We nurture a working partnership with families, thereby establishing a sense of community. Our students consistently score above the state average on state assessments and work to provide frequent, meaningful assessments of achievement and provide thoughtful subsequent leveled instruction.

Above all, our school is grounded in an atmosphere of love and acceptance for everyone. We follow the foundations of PBIS, and guide our expectations and behavior based on being "SHARKS": Safe, Hardworking, Accountable, Respectful and Kind Students. 

Our feeder school system is comprised of quality schools. Midway Elementary feeds into Northwood Middle School.  Our students then move on to Mt. Spokane High School.  All schools offer numerous opportunities academically, artistically and athletically.
